Examples of uses of wikis in K-12

Check out this link to see how others are using wiki's in education !

There are many good ideas on using wiki's in the classroom and I'm sure we could add a few ideas ourselves.

Need a good description of what a wiki actually is? Check this out:

Greenbush Employee Facebook

I have actually not been on Facebook before, but thought it would be great if we could either setup or create a similar project for Greenbush employees. Employees could create profiles to list information about what they do, their talents, and contact information. If other Greenbush employees were searching for someone to do a video to DVD, do some CF programing, etc... All they have to do is a quick search and it list employees with that skill. Or if you need to contact a co-worker by phone...log in and find their profile to quickly give them a call.

Thoughts???

This is a great example of a way to sell content from video tutorials or educational content.

The Rise of Educational focused Video sites

WOW! Everyday it seems that I see another Educational focused video sharing site. I wanted to share a few of the ones I found:

Teacher Tube
Next Vista
SuTree
IgniteLearning

With this kinda of interest in helping people learn, I think that we here at Greenbush, could find a way to assist schools in our area in getting good quality video content out there!

FlipTrack

On Episode 46, we feature the online slideshow creator called Fliptrack
Fliptrack allows you to put your pictures to their array of musical selections with ease.
You can create online or with a Windows machine you can download their software which gives you the ability to create a little more. I downloaded the software and created a great CodeMonkey video, but still waiting for it to show up online. But I created a short slideshow on the website and it was posted very quickly. They give you the code to embed or post to a variety of blogs and webpages.

New Podcast Format

We have begun our new format for our Take2 podcast! Thanks to a few brilliant minds, we heard input on what we could do to serve the listeners better. We now have a more focused audience and structured segments, like "What's New" "Tech Beat & Tech Light" and "Leadership Corner" with Brad. Also a new segment with Jason Slaughter!

We continue to work on the live broadcasting with Wirecast.

Can't wait to hear how everyone likes the new format.
